André-Aimé-René Masson (4 January 1896 – 28 October 1987) was a French artist. He was a leading figure in the Surrealist movement and an influence on Abstract Expressionism. He served in the French Army from 1914 to 1915, when he was discharged due to injuries sustained in battle. Wikipedia
